Sketch #1 - 9/25/2011
I’m not going to tell you who he was supposed to be, you’re probably going to get it wrong anyway since this looks way off. HAHA.
Pencil sketch. Done in an hour. Tweaked colors with photoshop. In celebration of our new scanner/printer. :D
New tag: sketches. I’d like to think there would be more of this. Hihi :D

I love Booksale.
I know, I’ve said it again and again. But I really do have a weakness for sales (as do most girls, yes?). Clothes and shoes can only last so long, though. Books, however, can be reread countless times, be passed from one person to another, highlighted and written on, and still its content will (mostly) be the same; price will be irrelevant. So imagine the joy of picking up a book for only 20 pesos. Sometimes it won’t even matter if I don’t like the book in the end, I know somehow it’ll have taught me something anyway, be it with its storyline or just how the author writes.
Clockwise, from topleft:
Just Checking by Emily Colas - It’s a collection of anecdotes and vignettes about how one goes about life while suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
Coyote Dream by Jessica Davis Stein - A story about two people, and their different cultures and traditions. Sarah owns a successful store in New York. Ben is Native Indian and cares for coyotes.
Fleur De Leigh In Exile by Diane Leslie - Rich kid moves to Rancho Cambridge West, and her eyes are opened to the “Real World”, which is much unlike her upperclass lifestyle.
Lethally Blonde by Kate White - An actor from a TV show, Morgue, goes missing, and a crime journalist is thrust in the middle of her own killer story.
The Two Kinds of Decay by Sarah Manguso - Sarah recounts her experience with a wildly unpredictable autoimmune disease, and the physical, emotional and mental struggle that comes with it.
Doctors by Erich Segal -Erich tells us the story of medical students from Harvard Medical School’s class of 1962; the ups and downs of medschool, if you will. A proof that doctors are often the most vulnerable people there are.
I’m sorry for the bad previews (I know, there’s a term for it, I can’t seem to put my finger on it though, I keep thinking of “book blob” haha). I haven’t actually finished any of these books yet, as I’ve only just bought them yesterday, so I don’t really know if what I wrote up there are in any way relevant to their respective books. Baka dahil pahapyaw lang, sobrang layo pala sa plot. Haha. I’m halfway through the first one, though, and it’s really quite interesting; I’ve always had a fascination for neuro/psychiatric disorders. Hehe. :)
And you probably won’t know any of these authors, and neither do I. Save for that of Segal’s, these titles are basically unknown to me until that moment I picked these up from the shelves of Booksale. I think I spent about an hour there, just happily choosing which books I like, then later having the arduous task of deciding which ones to actually buy. I spent Php317 for all these, less than a typical book off Powerbooks would cost. And that is why Booksale is awzm. :D

MSS Med Mission 07/16/2011
First medmish ko YEYYY! Haha. This is somewhat a huge milestone for me, one I should’ve already taken years ago. The opportunity just often comes whenever I’m not at school (ie summer) or perhaps just busy (weh).
And to think I was going to skip on it, too. Haha. I woke up 5:30AM, and my half-awake self just managed to convince herself that it isn’t worth losing sleep over. HAHAHA, ‘langkwenta. Buti nagising ako ulit ng 6:30 (HI HOPEE! Mababasa mo kaya ‘to? :P), at nakahabol pa. So yehey for the learning experience, although half of the time I just felt kind of lost and stupid, honestly; it was as if I never really learned anything the past 2 years of medschool, and that, really, I should probably be… I don’t want to finish that thought. Hehe.
But then again, sabi nga nila, LUV is when we get the most learning. So here’s to what should be a highly productive year! The fact that incoming rotations are really starting to scare them bejeezus out of me. (Which was why I went with the medmish in the first place, para may practice para ‘pag nasa OPD na or something). OB in 2 weeks, ohmylawd. And so, just to jumpstart with that in mind, (and since I was in Rob with nothing to do), I read a few OB transes from last year. Yehes naman, ang yabang ko! I am going to make it a point to read at least 1-2 OB transes a day, from now on. Para naman hindi ako sasabak sa OB nang nagtatanga-tanga. (Because, I swear, it’s like my brain just empties itself every summer. Srsly, stock knowledge is like a foreign term, inapplicable for someone like me). Hihi. :P
Ang off-topic ko na! Anyway, YEY MEDMISH! Hahahaha :P

MMMM Sushi. By Sushi Mo. :P
PS: Look o, yabang ko lang maglagay ng watermark. HAHA. Kakadownload ko lang kasi ulit ng Lightroom eh. :)))
EDIT: What it says when you click the camera info button. At first I thought, ngek mali, di naman DLSR ginamit ko eh. Then I checked my camera, oooh tama nga! Haha. How does it do that? Hehe igno. :P

What I bought today!
(I think this would be my 2nd time to post something like this. I was thinking of making it a trend/feature for flibbertigibbet, but then realized I’d be making it an excuse to be spending waaay too much money HAHA).
Nailpolish: Black Shadow, Chestnut and Purple Dazzle (it’s not obvious sa photo, but they’re all glittery. HAHA. All my recents colors have been glittery, tsk).
Rings: Ribbon, Keyboards, Owl, Robot, Star
Earrings: Ribbons, Dangling Flowers
Necklace: Bird-and-it’s-cage-on-a-tree
Bracelet: Ribbon
I spent more or less 500Php on all of these. I feel a twinge of guilt at the cost, but I rationalize it with these: 1, I won’t be going to Quiapo anytime soon anyway, so I might as well get a lot; 2, for the same amount of money I’d only have gotten maybe 4 rings at a boutique or in a mall. I’ll make tipid na lang next week. :P
There are 5 ribbons in this photo. Haha. Also, my buys are generally in the neutral side, although still sparkly. Hehe.

Hehe. Pls not to judge. I know it looks weird. And nope, I can’t twist my own body that way. :P

Drew this today. I think it actually looks better than here in the photo, but whatevs. She’s supposed to be a celebrity, but she looks so wrong and different, so let’s just pretend she was a figment of my imagination. Haha.

"Peace is everyone’s ambition, but first it must be everyone’s intention."My mom. (paraphrased, because I can’t remember her exact words. Hehe).

Drew this yesterday, out of boredom. (Yep, my hand is ctually shaped that wonky. Haha) There was a scheduled blackout the entire day, so we were looking for activities not needing electricity. The rest of the day was spent bonding with the family. Cards, scrabble and boggle. It’s been a long time since these games have seen the light. Hahaha. On other news, that ferocious dog I’ve already blogged about, Dougal? He bit our doberman, Cash’s ear. It’s official, I hate him now. :|
